On the 21st of November 2017, an idea was planted in the local community room. An idea to give a microphone to local residents, to amplify their voices and to champion their expert knowledge stemming through their lived experience.  An idea of formulating and designing projects in collaboration with local residents that works for them in their reality.

This idea is TALO community, a women-led social enterprise run by highly-skilled Somali women well connected both to the community and to local issues. This idea has blossomed into a space owned by the community, easily accessible and flexible to their priorities.

TALO community is determined in uplifting and empowering the families they work with by implementing a community strength-based model.  Through this vital community support, TALO community plays an integral role in supporting families to establish strong roots in Bristol.
